Introduction

The goal of this module is to explain the examination development process specifically for Study Specialist Vetters, SSVs.
This module is broken up into 4 parts and should take roughly 1 hour

Part One: Overview

This text will give you an understanding of the context surrounding and the changes made to the examination development process for 2025

Summary of improvements

Improvements for 2025 examination development include the following.

  • The introduction of a merit based process to select exam development panel members.
  • Additional academics on panel
  • The introduction of additional quality assurance processes and accountabilities
  • The development of an improved examination development process with a new timeline
  • The introduction of in person workshops for exam development panels
  • Improved feedback loops between exam panels and reviewers, in particular for the ESV and the SSV
  • Requirements for documenting full workings to assessment items and explanations justifying why multiple choice answers are right or wrong.
